Founder

Zachary Drummond

Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Zachary Drummond has dedicated his career to environmental education, community outreach, and conservation. With a background in Environmental Science and hands-on experience in conservation projects and water quality monitoring, he founded Liberty and Nature for All to make nature accessible to everyone and inspire a deeper connection to the outdoors.
Zachary’s professional experience spans roles such as researcher, environmental educator, Project biologist, and community organizer. From leading educational programs to developing interactive digital maps that track pollution in local creeks, his commitment to practical, sustainable solutions is reflected throughout his work. Through Liberty and Nature for All, Zachary brings together his passions for environmental advocacy, hands-on education, and community engagement. By fostering inclusive outdoor experiences, he aims to empower others to connect with nature, promoting conservation and ecological awareness for future generations

Co-Founder

Anthony C. Salazar

Born in Vallejo CA, he is a first-generation Mexican American college student finishing his PhD in Materials science and engineering. He is also a first-generation hunter with a passion for waterfowl hunting. Hunting has led to a deep connection to nature, increased confidence, improved planning and leadership skills and given him a healthy proactive recreation. He works to ignite this passion in other first-generation hunters, educating and uniting hunters of all backgrounds.

Ben Bartlett

Ben is a dedicated community advocate and former Berkeley City Council member, serving on the Board of Directors with a focus on equitable solutions and social justice. With a background in civil rights and environmental law, he has championed initiatives for sustainability and economic development. As a co-founder of several non-profit organizations, Ben empowers underserved populations through education and resources. He holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA in Political Science from UC Berkeley. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys hiking, community art projects, and spending time with his family.

Electra Taylor-Metellus

Electra Taylor-Metellus is a passionate entrepreneurship and innovation student at the University of San Francisco. A dedicated activist for Black Lives Matter, she is committed to promoting inclusion and cultivating diverse communities. Beyond her activism, Electra thrives in creative spaces as a piano and voice teacher. Her love for the outdoors is reflected in her four-year lifeguard certification, highlighting her connection to water. She is known for her collaborative spirit and community engagement. Additionally, Electra has a strong social media presence as a content creator, focusing on uplifting and empowering her community through various creative expressions.

Josh Hickel

As an officer of the organization, Josh Hickel is dedicated to the mission of including diverse perspectives in outdoor recreation. This commitment stems from his personal relationship with hunting and angling. Through his friendships with Anthony and Zach, who have been leading this effort, they asked him to help bring this vision to life, a responsibility he is proud to be a part of. Growing up in rural northern California, hunting and fishing have been a part of Josh’s lifestyle since he was six years old. Over the years, he has experienced the positive aspects of hunting, such as bringing families together, putting food on the table, and, most importantly, contributing to conservation efforts that generate nearly a billion dollars annually. Though it may sound counterintuitive, the more hunters there are, the more funds go into conservation. At the same time, attracting a younger and more diverse crowd to hunting will ensure its acceptance and growth in the future.

Liam Klaidman-Rinat

Originally from Berkeley, Liam has grown up in and around all of the beautiful nature the Bay Area and Northern California has to offer. The influence of the outdoors has made its way into his artistic and culinary work. An avid fishermen, with an interest in hunting and sustainability, and much to learn and explore. Notably some of his favorite areas are Tilden Park, and the Point Reyes National Seashore.
